# AWS Marketplace

> Subscribe to Spotify Portal through AWS Marketplace to simplify procurement, consolidate billing, and draw down on your existing AWS committed spend.

This guide is for customers purchasing Spotify Portal through AWS Marketplace. If you are purchasing directly through our sales team, please refer to the [Getting Started with Portal](/docs/portal/getting-started) guide. For the Spotify Plugins for Backstage (self-hosted) AWS Marketplace listing, see [Plugins: AWS Marketplace](/docs/plugins/getting-started/aws-marketplace).

## Overview

Spotify Portal is available on AWS Marketplace as a fully transactable SaaS listing. Unlike the Spotify Plugins for Backstage listing, which deploys resources into your AWS account, Portal is a fully managed service hosted by Spotify. There is nothing to deploy or configure in your AWS environment.

Purchasing Portal through AWS Marketplace provides several benefits:

* **Consolidated billing**: Portal charges appear on your existing AWS invoice alongside your other AWS services.
* **EDP drawdown**: Portal subscriptions count toward your AWS Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) committed spend, helping you meet spend commitments you've already made.
* **Simplified procurement**: If your organization already procures through AWS Marketplace, Portal can follow the same approval workflow, with no separate vendor onboarding or purchase order required.
* **Standard or custom terms**: Subscribe under standard terms, or work with our sales team to negotiate custom pricing and contract terms via a Marketplace Private Offer.

## How it works

Portal on AWS Marketplace uses a **SaaS contract** model. When you subscribe, AWS handles billing and invoicing as the merchant of record. Spotify provisions and manages the Portal instance on your behalf. You don't need to stand up any infrastructure.

### What you get

Your Portal subscription includes the same product, features, and SLAs whether you purchase through AWS Marketplace or directly through Spotify. The only difference is the billing and procurement path.

## Subscribing via Private Offer

Most Portal customers on AWS Marketplace subscribe through a **Marketplace Private Offer (MPPO)**, which allows us to tailor pricing, contract duration, and payment schedule to your needs.

### Step 1: Contact our sales team

Reach out to your Spotify account executive or [contact us](https://portal.spotify.com/try-portal) to discuss your requirements. Let us know you'd like to transact through AWS Marketplace.

### Step 2: Negotiate terms

Work with your Spotify account executive to align on pricing, contract duration, and any custom terms. If you have specific payment schedule requirements (e.g. multi-year deal), we can accommodate flexible payment schedules through Marketplace.

### Step 3: Receive your Private Offer

Once terms are agreed, your Spotify account executive will create a Private Offer in AWS Marketplace. You'll need to provide:

* The **AWS Account ID(s)** you want to use for the purchase.
* The **email address** of the person in your organization who has access to those AWS accounts and can accept the offer.

That person will receive an email with a link to review and accept the offer in the AWS Marketplace console.

### Step 4: Accept the offer

The designated person in your organization logs into the AWS Marketplace console, reviews the Private Offer terms and pricing, and accepts the offer. Once accepted, the subscription is active and billing begins according to the agreed schedule.

### Step 5: Get started with Portal

After your subscription is confirmed, the Spotify team will work with you to provision your Portal instance. If you already have a Portal instance (e.g., migrating billing from a direct contract to Marketplace at renewal), your service continues uninterrupted and only the billing path changes.

Refer to the [Getting Started with Portal](/docs/portal/getting-started) guide for onboarding and setup instructions.

## EDP drawdown

If your organization has an AWS Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) agreement, Portal purchases made through AWS Marketplace count toward your committed spend. This applies to both new subscriptions and renewals transacted through Marketplace.

EDP commitments are tracked against each customer's individual AWS contract anniversary. Contact your AWS account team to confirm your EDP balance and commitment timeline.
